Effective at getting to a decent RPM in a very short amount of time
Created using ferromagnetic 3-D printed material for the coil cores to enhance the magnetic fields given off by the magnet wire, stand made with normal PLA filament
51% Generator Efficiency, 13% Motor Efficiency, 7% Overall Efficiency, Max RPM: 2750
Magnets attach to the shaft using a red 3-D printed filament and do not come in contact with the motor
Design Specifics:
43 Turns of 20 AWG magnet wire per coil (~18 feet per coil), total of ~162 ft (~49.4 m) for the entire motor
Created based on design in book by Duane Hanselman
16 16lb Neodymium bar magnets attached to the shaft
Total diameter of motor: 6"
Attached with 18 #6-32 bolts and attached to the base plate using 4 #10-32 bolts
Motor Holder
Coil holder, holds the 9 coils using 18 #6-32 bolts, attaches to the base plate using 4 #10-32 bolts, design to be flat and thin to get the magnets as close to the coils as possible for the most efficiency
Magnet Holder
Magnet holder, each slot holds 1 Neodymium disc magnet, secured by cover using 8 #6-32 bolts, lip on cover was glued directly to the shaft to ensure stable rotation
Coils
Attaches with 18 #6-32 bolts to the motor holder, created using Duane Hanselman's 9 coil 8 magnet 3 phase brushless motor design, flat design allows for the magnets to get very close to the coils to regenerate the most electrical energy
